Our Relocation Readiness Program is here to assist you in relieving the stresses that are associated with moving. Our team understands the ups and downs of relocating and is ready to assist you and your family in making a smooth transition.
Destination Germany/Korea: Starting in the spring of 2012, this class will give you an idea of what to expect when you and/or your family PCS to Germany or Korea.
English as a Second Language (ESL): To provide the best English instruction, our ESL courses are self-paced (The Rosetta Stone ESL Computer Based Program) with the assistance of a highly qualified teacher. Korean as Second Language (KSL): Starting in the spring of 2012, this new program will assist Soldiers and Families that are PCSing to Korea, as well as those DoD ID card holders interested in learning a new language. For more information, call (719) 526-1053 or 526-0466.

Waiting Families "Hearts Apart": This program was established to supports families that are not able to PCS with their Soldier, due to an unaccompanied tour or a long-term deployment. Family members are provided with local information and services specific to their needs. Arriving Soldiers and Family Members should make the Family Connection their first stop when arriving to Fort Carson. This family friendly facility offers a wide array of services, to include:
Computer Lab: Check your email or surf the internet. We have computers, printers and a fax machine available for use.
Conference Room: Our facility has a conference room that is available for use by Fort Carson units, organizations and Family Readiness Groups. For more information or for a reservation, call (719) 526-1070.
Homebuyer's Workshop: Offers perspective homebuyers the knowledge of the home buying process. Topics include: preparing for home ownership, choosing a realtor, selecting the right house, obtaining the right mortgage and understanding the closing process. This workshop is held on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 1300 to 1700. To register, call (719) 526-1070.
Immigration & Naturalization Assistance: Provided FREE to Active Duty, eligible reservists, retirees and Family Members. This service offers information on Immigration and Naturalization policies, procedures and forms. Our representative works hand in hand with the Denver U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office to assist clients in effectively resolving issues and concerns. Loan Closet: Items are available for use while your household goods are in shipment. Available items include: hospitality kits (pots, pans, dishes, silverware and glasses), cots, folding tables/chairs, car seats, high chairs, electric skillets, vacuums and much more. A copy of your orders and a DoD ID card are required to use this service.
Multicultural Support Groups: We currently have established support groups for German, Spanish and Korean Family Members. If you are interested in starting a group that has not been established, contact us at (719)526-1070 to see how we can assist you.
Newcomer Orientation: This is your opportunity to learn about the programs and services available here at Fort Carson. This orientation is offered on the 1st Thursday of the month from 0800 to 1530 and includes lunch, a van tour of the Mountain Post, free childcare, and a chance to meet and network with new friend. Speakers will discuss TRICARE, DFMWR activities, household goods, volunteering, finding employment, adjusting to the altitude and much more. Play Area: Bring the kids in with you and let them burn off some energy in our toy area while you access our complimentary internet serviceā¦or take a break in the family room and watch some television.
Newcomer Assistance: Our staff is well trained and ready to assist you with information that will ease your transition and lessen your stress. Each new spouse who visits our facility will receive a "Welcome to Fort Carson" gift.

Levy: Reassignment briefings are held Tuesdays for Soldiers heading overseas and Thursdays for personnel being reassigned stateside. The briefings are held in building 1129, Freedom Performing Arts Center; sign-in is at 0700 and briefings start at 0730. Soldiers are required to bring their DA Form 5118, signed by their unit personnel section (S-1), and a pen to complete forms. For more information, call (719) 526-4730 or 526-4583.
